Within the recent airport industry there is a constant tension between local and global interests: glocal complexity. Places become articulated moments in networks of social or economic relations and understandings and simultaneously traditional areas with specific boundaries. In his essay de Jong suggests a relational planning approach in order to manage this complexity.
