In December 2006, the European Commission published a proposal for a directive on the inclusion of aviation into the European Union’s emission trading scheme for stationary sources. The German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Air Transport and Airport Research Unit, analyses the impacts of the proposal on operating costs, ticket prices and the demand for air transport. The article gives an insight into the ongoing research.
