The Board
The Aerlines Magazine Foundation is run by a group of enthousiastic volunteers. They share a passion for writing, publishing and aviation affairs.
The board:
Willem-Jan Zondag MSc – Co-Chairman.
Willem-Jan is an Aerius/Aerlines die-hard. He has been actively involved with Aerius since January 2001. From early 2001 until late 2002, he was secretary of the association. In Autumn 2002, he was appointed president of the board of which he resigned in Spring 2004. After leaving the Aerius board he remained active as editor-in-chief of Aerlines Magazine.
WJ has bachelor degree in Business Logistics from the Haarlem Business School and holds a Master degree in Economics from the Free University Amsterdam where he graduated early 2006 with a thesis on competition in the air cargo industry. Besides Board Member, Willem-Jan is an active member of the editorial staff and the internet development team.

Bram du Saar M.A. – Co-Chairman
Bram has been with Aerlines Magazine since 2001. First as an editor, when Aerlines was still a hard-copy magazine. Together with other members of the editorial staff he was actively involved in realizing the conversion of Aerlines to a nowadays successful and well read e-zine. Regarding content, he, furthermore, enthusiastically helped to develop our internet publishing concept.
Besides Co-Chairman, Bram is Editor-in-Chief of the editorial staff.
Before joining Aerlines, he was co-organizer of the 2000 annual conference of the Air Transport Research Society (then known as Air Transport Research Group), which was hosted by Aerius (former founding father of Aerlines) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Bram has studied spatial planning and transport economy at the University of Amsterdam. There, his interest for the aviation industry and especially it’s spatial aspects was born. He graduated in the year 2000 and is now a senior planning officer on airport and aviation affairs in The Netherlands.

Paul Nibbering MSc – Secretary
Paul has joined the Aerlines editorial team spring 2008. His passion for aviation has evolved already from a very young age, eventually leading to his participation within Aerlines. He studied Business Administration at the VU University in Amsterdam.
Paul holds a Bachelor degree in Business Information Technology from the HES School of Economics and Business and graduated (MSc) in Business Administration at the VU University in Amsterdam (2007). He specialized in Transport, Distribution and Logistics and wrote among others a couple of aviation related research papers. This led to the idea of becoming an active contributor to Aerlines Magazine. His thesis discussed the management of airport congestion, thereby focusing on the effects of runway peak pricing. One of his main interests in the field of aviation is air traffic management.

Wouter Wester MSc – Treasurer
Wouter has been running our (financial) administration for the past 7 years. Aviation is not his cup of tea though, as he prefers to travel by train. Wouter studied International Relations at the Universiteit Amsterdam and works for several Dutch newspapers.
